August was a busy month with zone conferences, leadership training, zone leader counsel, and specialized training. Here is some of what happened:
We trained and ...

practiced and...

and practiced to help learn the new concepts.

Made some time to do some service ....

Received more training and ...

More practice and ...

Eating ...

Elders Lyman and Barlow taught us how to experience a Tim Tam Slam ... First you have to have a cup full of hot chocolate...

Then you get a package of Tim Tam cookies. There are two cookies put together with chocolate in between.

You bite off the ends of the cookie ... an important step for the slam.

getting ready for the slam ...

Slamming involves dunking the cookie in hot chocolate long enough for the chocolate inside the cookie to melt ...

Then eating up the melted delicious cookie with a taste of hot chocolate!!!!! It is very yummy.!!!

Then more training ...

More practicing and ...

And more eating!
We love every minute we spend with the missionaries.

Tim Tam Slam, huh? Yummy! Love to see all the work you are doing. Pres. Dowdle looks right at home in the classroom doesn't he. I wish I could come learn from you both.
We love you and think of you everyday!
Wait, is that Pres Dowdle in normal people clothes. I didn't know he still owned any. Did all that service remind him of the yard he gets to come home to? Elder Barlow and Lyman look good, are they still in Yap, thats where they were when we visited 6 months ago! WOW
Love the new pics!! Pres. Dowdle looks great, the missionaries look great, and the Tim Tam Slams look interestingly good?
This should say ELDER SHEPPARD, but I can't change my Google account
Actually, the "SLAM" part of Tim Tam Slams involves sucking the hot chocolate through the Tim Tam! Simply "dipping" doesn't do it. As the hot chocolate is sucked up through the cookie, it begins to soften the cookie, the inner chocolate filling, and the outer chocolate coating. The trick is to suck the soggy cookie back into your mouth at just the right moment so it coats your lips, your tongue, the roof of your mouth, your throat, and half-way down your esophagus with a delicious melted chocolaty mess! Mmmmmmm
If you miss the "moment", it's still delicious... it simply ends up in your cup, which isn't so bad!
